HearRing

HearRing is an offshoot of the Unpopular Music project, an outdoor 8-channel music listening space made for Guerrilla-style deployment in urban parks. The first HearRing appearances are occuring September 14, 15, and 21, 2019, in Chicago city parks, featuring a collection of 8-channel compositions by Chicago-based composers and sound-makers.

HearRing is funded through the Chicago Park District's Night Out In The Parks program. Thanks to Oulayvone Anodeth for coordination and support from inside the system. Experimental Sound Studio, especially Olivia Junell, provided application and marketing support. The HearRing system was organized and executed by Stephan Moore. The music program was assembled and programmed by Jonesy Jones. Many thanks to Andrea Wathanaphone, Megan Lubin, Oona Evans, Sam Clapp, Jonesy Jones, and Bill Parod for help with setup and tear-down.
